This month our group had an activity. Due to fundraising setbacks we had a mini-activity to go bowling at the local bowling alley, Freeway Bowl. I was responsible for contacting the members of Neural Activity and ensuring that we had the best turnout possible for the activity and lesson. Although this does not seems like a very effective activity to get our minds and bodies rushing with dopamine, it turned out to be surprisingly successful! We all had the chance to bond as a group and to laugh together. When you are doing something as nerve-racking as public speaking to a group of people it is nice to have another member in the sidelines to help you through the scary-at-first experience. Trusting the others in the group is important, especially when they are presenting along side of you. This makes a person less nervous knowing the guy beside them has their back, given they mess something up or need help in explaining a concept.
We also found out that the Neural Activity group was expanding nation-wide. There was going to be a branch starting in the New Jersey area. He has been preparing to give us the opportunity to go up there to help with the setup of the program. It is so exciting to see this group, which started out with 8 peopl,e grow into something of such magnitude. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Neural Activity family and to be able to help people in such a forward way.
