Update: December 2013

This month we had a crew activity in order to bond and learn within thew same vicinity. The goal of this adventure activity was first and foremost: to achieve a natural high. The second order of business was to practice through our middle school presentations.

Shelby and I met Deputy Chad Williams at the Mesa County Sheriffs Office and rode up to Old Powderhorn (a skiing hill) together. There we met the crew to go on our sledding adventure. Every time an activity like this happens it gives us another example of how to achieve a natural high which in turn we have the opportunity to share with the children that we are preaching to through this curriculum. We went to the Mesa Lodge and from there went cross country skiing through the Colorado terrain. After this we went back to the lodge where I presented to a family of four. It was a practice presentation, but nevertheless it was helpful to have an audience who could critique my speech giving skills and give me positive feedback that I could incorporate into my speaking. I practiced presenting with multiple partners and learned ways in which to ensure the students would connect with the message I was trying to convey. All in all it was a successful day with my Neural Activity crew.
